👋 Hi, I’m Qingyun
I’m a Computer Science student at The University of British Columbia who enjoys coding, collaborating, and building things that are useful and fun.
I get excited about projects where I can solve problems with others—whether that’s optimizing a system, exploring a new algorithm, or contributing to open-source tools.
💻 What I Do
Right now, I’m a Software Engineer/Research Assistant on the BC ATUS Project. It’s a multi-year study and I contribute to the development of the iOS app used for the survey.
🚀 Projects
Exam Generation & Analysis System
I designed and built a platform to make exam creation less tedious and more reliable. It uses semantic search to recommend similar questions, shuffles intelligently to keep tests fair, and runs on a microservice architecture for scalability. Along the way, I learned a lot about performance optimization and reduced compute costs dramatically.
Flowboard – Project Management Web App
A collaboration tool built with React, Tailwind, and Appwrite, with a focus on usability and streamlined deployment.
🌱 Learning
Recently, I’ve been diving deeper into:
- Algorithms & system design
- Privacy-preserving machine learning
- Frontend performance optimization
✍️ Beyond Code
I like sharing what I learn. Writing things down helps me think more clearly, and it’s rewarding when my notes help someone else too.
